Blog writing as with anything else, improves the more you do it. My first few blog posts were I thought good but did leave room for improvement. The more I wrote, the more I learned about what I wanted to write, the style, format and content, and with a little feedback from friends I see my posts through the reader’s eye also. The post previous to this, ‘The Great Escape‘ was again a different style and seemed to be an improvement. So with the next ride I’ll break it down to a few posts where I’ll be trying something different which I also hope is an improvement. Feedback and comments always appreciated.
This is my friend Alvin Chua and his BMW1200 Cruiser. I wrote about Alvin in the previous post. He’s a great guy. A good rider, very pleasant, mild mannered and great company. I’ve known Alvin since the early days of being in the Ducati Club and was always a regular on our club rides, especially the 2 or 3 night rides. We’ve ridden many rides in the past and he was also a committee member of the Ducati Owners Club for a year and made some great contributions. He was the first Singaporean local we had on the committee and that was a milestone in the Club’s development.
Alvin was among the group of friends who rode from Singapore to Cambodia. Unfortunately his bike had issues at Hua Hin, so I managed to connect him to a BMW dealer on the West of Bangkok, MF Motorrad. They transported his bike to their workshop, could not fix it in a day and so he left his bike with them and went back to Singapore thus ending his ride.
We kept in touch the few weeks after, and came to the view that once his bike is fixed, as it’s already in Thailand to leave it here and he can fly in and do some rides either solo, or with me or with others. Thus we hatched out a plan to do a three day ride when his bike was fixed. Alvin did some research and opted to do a 3 day tour of some of the lesser known Historical Parks in Thailand. We planned the weekend of April 1-3. The posts following this will be a summary of that tour. As he title suggest, a good opportunity to ride with a friend from a previously unfortunate incident.
One thing I did notice on this ride is that I was always thinking about the blog, and looking for an opportunity to take photo’s and take note of things that I could post. It was a noticeable and interesting change in my view point.
